Bhan Thai started out in 1998, providing Thai theme nights at
public houses around Worcestershire, taking the ‘true
taste of Thailand’ to customers. This proved very popular, with
each night being fully booked within a short period of advertising.
This led to customers wanting more because they could not get
a table, so in March 2000 Bhan Thai Restaurant was born in Kidderminster.
Suti (the owner) brought with her over 10 years experience working
in Israel running her own restaurants, plus a very successful
bar in Thailand. She had been the Manager at the famous Thai
Kingdom in Stratford on Avon, so was able to bring many years
experience to the business. She prides herself on creating a
Thai ambiance, which runs through the décor, staff, clothing,
music and most important of all the food.
All the staff are mainly Thai, and the Chef’s all hail
from the best hotels in Thailand, bringing with them the high
level of skills needed to work for Bhan Thai. Just over a year
later the second restaurant was opened in Kingswinford, with
a third 18 months later in Redditch. In June 2004 another was
opened in Hagley, which was followed by another in 2005 in Malvern.
The successful Bhan Thai reputation rolled on, and now Bhan Thai
at Malvern has become our most established and beautiful restaurant.
On the 21st September 2009 our beautiful restaurant was destroyed by fire. It started in the kitchen (deep fat fryers) but quickly spread throughout the roof which collapsed into the first floor taking with it the staff bedrooms before falling into the ground. There was nothing left, only the exterior walls were left standing. After 2 years of struggle, pain, heartache and anguish eventually the new restaurant was born.
We decided to break from tradition and create a bright, light. contemporary modern restaurant on the theme of 'Yin & Yang' using black and white as the concept and we are extremely pleased with the outcome.
We are very happy and proud of what we have achieved, and Suti
is true to her business beliefs aiming to please all customers
and just like Thailand, nothing is too much trouble, and whatever
the customer wants she will do her utmost to deliver, even if
it’s not on the menu. So if you want to sample the ‘true
taste of Thailand’ wander down to Bhan Thai Restaurant
and take your time over a Thai feast.
Bhan Thai are definitely ‘the
true taste of Thailand’. |
